Love from the heart

Raw with Love

This love poem was composed by Norman Habel and deals with the raw love of spring

When
 the bearded iris spends
 its lazy pollen
 on the callous May winds
 fleet with wisdom torn
 from unborn souls
 of Spring
      or swept
      as crystal sperm
      invested with a ballad
      jealously composed
      in soft primeval chambers
      where
         this tomorrow’s love
         gingerly awaits veiled
         in verdant nerves
         on tingling wings
         of bat
            to stare
            into the death
            of being born
            a birding crumpled
            there

I feel
 a thousand chattering
 bees have bitten frantic
  fangs white-heated
  deep into my bloated
  tongue
     poisoning my roots
     through which the subtle
     sting of sharpened
     tears
        exploding,
         in another’s heart
         draws the blood
         that asks
             forgiveness
             from my silent
             fingertips
             raw with love
